Handforth, Wilmslow & Alderley Athletics Club
About Us
HWAAC is an athletics club based in Wilmslow catering for children of all abilities between the ages of 8 to 16. We train every Thursday night throughout the year (including the summer holidays) using the sports facilities at the Wilmslow High School. Our athletes are encouraged to compete in 4 summer matches and 3 winter Sportshall matches.
Athletes Code of Conduct
We have such a large number of young athletes of varying ages, and are always conscious of their health and safety. We occasionally remind our athletes on their behaviour, and what is expected from them whilst at athletics.
It is essential that when we are outside, split into various groups, that attention to the coaches’ instructions and behaviour is excellent.
Code of Conduct (As drawn up by the Athletes):
I will:

Treat coaches, officials and other athletes with respect

Always try my best and play fair

Accept success and failure, victory or defeat, without protest

Not cheat, use violence or physical contact to any member of the athletics club

Always behave in a responsible and safe way

Encourage other athletes

Talk to someone I trust or a welfare officer if I'm unhappy about anything at the club.
Parents please note that the membership forms contain this information. We ask that you remind your children what is expected of them when they attend training and when they are representing the club.
Safeguarding Policy
We follow the Safeguarding Policy for UK Athletics (available here) which they recommend clubs adopt in its entirety.
